The National Contact Point of the International Astronomical Union (NCP IAU) represents the Swiss interests within the IAU and actively participates in different task groups and programs of emphasis by the union.
IAU campaigns for the conservation and advancement of teaching and research in the field of astronomy in various countries.

The Swiss Commission for Astronomy" (SCFA) performs the function of the National Committee IAU of the Platform Mathematics, Astronomy and Physics MAP and has thus been entrusted with the task of being the national contact point for IAU.
