Fragmentierung beeinflusst Ökosystemleistungen

In einer Studie über die Effekte von Fragmentierung und Habitatverlust im Schweizer Mittelland konnte gezeigt werden, dass holzbewohnende solitäre Wespen sowohl von der Fragmentierung wie auch vom Habitatverlust negativ beeinflusst sind. Die natürlichen Feinde von Wespen und Bienen (Schlupfwespen und parasitische Fliegen) reagieren allerdings noch stärker auf Habitatfragmentierung als ihre Wirte, so dass die Parasitierungsrate (als Ökosystemfunktion) mit zunehmender Fragmentierung stark reduziert wird.
