Swiss representation in strategy committee of the International Council for Science (ICSU)

Through Nina Buchmann, the Swiss scientific community will be represented in the Committee on Strategic Planning and Review (CSPR) of the International Council for Science (ICSU) for the next three years.

With an expertise from plant ecology to biogeochemistry to ecosystem services, Nina Buchmann is Professor for Grassland Sciences at the ETH Zurich and a member of its World Food System Center. Additionally, she has been and is a member in several national and international expert committees. With its 121 National Members and 32 International Scientific Unions, the International Council for Science looks after the intererests of the global scientific community. Related to the Council's focus area of strengthening international research collaboration, e.g. through the 10-year programme Future Earth, the CSPR Committee takes a key role. The Swiss Academy of Sciences (SCNAT) has been engaged in the International Council for Science for more than 90 years as a National Member.
