The Young Faculty Meeting 2022 will take place on 6 September 2022 at the Berner Generationenhaus next to the main station of Berne.

The prerequisite for participation is a leading position at a Swiss university and that your PhD degree was completed no more than ten years ago.

Young Faculty Science Talks

We are looking forward to a science talk on each of the fields of MAP - mathematics, astronomy, and physics.

  • Mathematics: Alba Grassi (University of Geneva): The Mathematics and Physics of String Dualities
  • Astronomy: Aurel Schneider (University of Zurich): What the heck is dark matter? Insights from astrophysics and cosmology
  • Physics: Ileana-Cristina Benea-Chelmus (EPFL): Sub-cycle metrology of terahertz electromagnetic waves

Workshop "Leadership"

Topic: Conflicts in various hierarchical situations

Katrin Küchler from the Leadership and Development Department at the University of Basel explains constructive approaches to conflicts in your everyday work as a researcher. In particular, she addresses different hierarchical situations - conflict with superiors, peers and group members.

The skills acquired are practised and improved in role plays.
