Open Data in science: recommendations for Europe
To promote Open Data in science, the European Members of the International Council for Science (ICSU) adopted a statement with recommendations for Europe. These concern the FAIR Data Principles, data repositories, data skills, incentives and reward systems, Research Data Management and research culture.
The statement is based on a workshop that was held together with the All European Academies (ALLEA) in Brussels, and benefits from a consultation among the 80 meeting participants from across Europe who represented science academies, research performers, funding bodies, international science organisations and government agencies.
The global science organisation ICSU comprises a membership of 122 national scientific bodies and 30 International Scientific Unions. The European ICSU Members are currently chaired by the Swiss Academy of Sciences (SCNAT).
