The natural sciences are a central pillar of cultural and economic development. Together with its network, SCNAT promotes this awareness and dialogue between science and the general public. It promptly identifies topics which may be important for society in the future, emphasises the need for action and points out conflicting goals. As the independent voice of science, SCNAT offers orientational knowledge in the variety of available information and contributes to the formation of opinion.
