Switzerland is home to major hubs in the global commodity trading sector. The trade of mineral and agricultural commodities is central to the global economy, particularly with regard to the organisation and functioning of global value chains. The sector is closely linked to geopolitical developments and has a significant impact on achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. This conference will bring together academic evidence on these links and discuss their policy relevance.
