Climate Change in Africa

A joint statement by African Science Academies

Africa's science academies have issued a call for greater climate change monitoring and analyses in Africa. Forming transnational partnerships between scientists is promoted as central to invigorating action on climate. The focus is especially on impacts on the livelihoods of communities, as they relate to agriculture, food security and health. The capacity for mitigating these impacts and the increasing frequency and intensity of climate change-related disasters in Africa should be developed more intensely.
