The Swiss Laboratory Animal Science Association (SGV) is pleased to announce the 2026 Call for Abstracts for our very first Early‑Career Researcher Flash Talk Competition. We invite young scientists working in all areas of laboratory animal science, 3Rs (Replacement, Reduction, Refinement), ethics of animal experimentation, and research using animal models to submit their work.

This is a unique opportunity to present your research to our audience, gain visibility within the scientific community, and compete for the SGV Best Flash Talk Award, chosen directly by the audience.

Format

- 6 selected speakers
- 3‑minute presentation
- 2‑minute Q&A
- Lively, fast-paced, and impactful storytelling format
- Audience voting will determine the award winner

Who Should Apply

We welcome submissions from:

- Master’s students
- PhD candidates
- Postdoctoral researchers
- Early‑career professionals (within ~5 years of first research appointment)

If your work contributes to advancing laboratory animal science or the 3Rs, this stage is for you.

Submission Timeline

- Call opens: March 1, 2026
- Deadline: June 30, 2026 (23:59 CET)

How to Apply

Please prepare a short abstract (max. 250 words) describing your research project, its relevance, and key findings or expected outcomes.
Submission link and detailed instructions will be available on our website starting March 1.
