From 23 September, the Space Eye in Niedermuhlern will be operational. The Space Eye consists of the largest publicly accessible telescope in Switzerland, a planetarium and several exhibitions on the topics of space and the environment.

The main purpose of the telescope is to give the public an insight into the mysteries of space. High-resolution images like those taken with the James Webb Telescope are not possible with it. However, the telescope can also be used by researchers at the University of Bern.

The Space Eye was developed in collaboration between the Stiftung Sternwarte Uecht, the University of Bern and other partners.
