Regional Research Day: Horn of Africa

This workshop offers scholars at the University of Basel and associated institutions an opportunity to exchange across disciplines and research areas.

Researchers and graduate students from all disciplines and at all stages in their academic career who work on the region (including Eritrea, Ethiopia, Djibouti and Somalia) are invited to present current research and academic activities. The aims of the regional day are:

  • to exchange on current research activities
  • to reflect research practices and modes of collaboration, and
  • to create new opportunities for collaboration.

The “Regional Research Day: Horn of Africa” will take place on Friday, 18 March 2022, in hybrid format (on-site in Basel and online via Zoom).

Scholars and graduate students are invited to present their current research and academic activities. Please submit the title and a short abstract (max. half a page) to by 31 January 2022 (extended deadline).
