MRD Talk #03 | How can social innovations contribute to local mountain economies? Learnings from science and practice

Time

15:00

Social innovations have the potential to help revive mountain economies, including through alternative economic pathways. Anna-Lena Stettler and Heike Mayer will present their findings on a regional initiative in the Swiss Alps; Abid Hussain of ICIMOD in the Hindu Kush Himalaya, Ana Shanshiashvili of the Georgian Heritage Crafts Association, and Stephen Sherwood of Ekorural in Ecuador will each share their experiences from civil society initiatives. The event is an opportunity to jointly reflect on how social innovations can be fostered for the benefit of mountain economies.
