A2P at Meteotest

On 1 November 2024, the traditional A2P event took us to Meteotest.

We were delighted to have 32 students from three different universities join us for our A2P at Meteotest in Bern. During the event, we were introduced to the "Ice and Climate" division. It was exciting to gain insight into an area of work that isn't typically covered in our studies. Now we know, for example, which locations are best suited for wind turbines and how to address potential dangers, like icing. The more familiar area of "Weather Services" also held surprises: for instance, tour companies in the Himalayas are important clients of Meteotest, receiving mountain-specific weather forecasts. So, anyone aiming for great heights can't go without Meteotest! :)

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Mario Rindlisbacher and Sara Koller for their presentation (and the free croissants during the break). We greatly appreciate their willingness to host the A2P event, as it offered students valuable insights into the working world.
