SFC Young Scientist Awards 2019

The SFC Young Scientist Awards 2019 were won by Anina Tännler and Kilian Müller. Elisabeth Tobler was awarded the best young scientist poster Award 2019.

The SFC Young Scientist Awards 2019 went to the Master's thesis "Analysis of nitrogen content, proteins and chitin in Swiss edible insects with chromatographic methods" by Anina Tännler (picture), ETH Zurich. The Bachelor's thesis "Lipid Oxidation in Mealworm Larvae" by Kilian Müller, ETH Zurich, was also awarded a prize. Both papers were presented in short talks at the Swiss Food Science Meeting 2019 in Neuchâtel.

During the Swiss Food Science Meeting (SFSM), the best young scientist poster presented is awarded by the SFC. It is selected by a vote of the participants of the SFSM. The award is handed over during the closing session of the meeting. The prize amounts to 500 CHF. The poster “Residues of mineral oil in paper straws and paper baking cups” of Elisabeth Tobler presented at the Swiss Food Science Meeting 2019 at Neuchâtel was rewarded with the SFC Young Scientist Poster Award 2019.
