SGM weather hike 2023

This year Leonard Schneider (University of Neuchâtel) accompanied us and explained excellently, among other things, the geology of the Creux du Van and the climatology of the valley of La Brévine. After lunch at the Ferme Robert restaurant, we hiked under light rain to the Fontaine Froide (a water source with a constant temperature of about 5 degrees). This was followed by the climb to Creux du Van in increasingly dynamic weather conditions. When it finally started to thunder, we divided into two groups: the less courageous ones turned around shortly before the finish the others were able to get a closer look at the spectacular rock face. A few hours (and downpours) later we met again at the Noiraigue train station, where for the first sun was waiting for us for the first time in the day. With that, the weather hike was completely done!
