Human interventions in nature are more and more intensive and global, and thus interactions between humans and the environment are more complex and unpredictable. Suitable indicators help to understand and assess the effects of human action in order to find measures for a more sustainable governance of the environment. A new publication of the Swiss Academies of Sciences provides an overview.
