The Ethics Committee for Animal Experimentation (ECAE) is a body of expertise and consultation in the field of "animal experimentation". The tasks of the ECAE include the development of positions on key issues in the field of animal testing and the review of legal dictates.
The committee consists of eleven members from sectors such as fundamental research, veterinary medicine, animal welfare, law and ethics. The ECAE is a joint committee of the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences (SAMS) and the Swiss Academy of Sciences (SCNAT).
